Sankofa Presents: A Discussion with "TOBIYA" Show Producers

Since it’s inception, Misrak Terefe and Tesfahun Kebede's popular televised poetic jazz show, Tobiya, A Musical Literary Event; has been a favorite of many viewers. It’s continuation of the age old tradition; the artists’ role in being a conduit to effectively communicate the unspoken thoughts and grievances of the masses in the ever-changing Ethiopian political scene, blended with its unique style of presentation and creativity, has allowed for the show's longevity and success.

Misrak and Tesfahun will share their perspective and experiences on the topics of art, music, TV show production; its challenges and rewards, and fulfilling their roles as artists in channeling the emotions of the people wiith honesty and creativity. 

All contributions go toward the completion of Haile Gerima's upcoming 5-part documentary film, BLACK LIONS - ROMAN WOLVES.
